One girl rollerbladed 4000 miles across America to show faith in humanity...

THE BLADRESS

In November 2018, I completed a 7-month, 4000-mile solo rollerblading odyssey across the US. And I did it with no money and no safety net, but with tons of faith in humanity.

Why would I do such a crazy thing? To share my message: When we act with faith, a world brimming with love, care, and trust becomes a reality. Strangers all over the country welcomed me into their homes with kindness and generosity.

With the help of One Girl Can, I also established the #TheBladress scholarship. I raised over $35,000—enough to fund 4 full years of secondary school for 16 Kenyan girls.

The Bladress is also an upcoming true-story novel. Stay tuned for the first copies!

About Me

I was that rebellious 90s-born girl raised in Hong Kong, United States and Italy, backpacked across Central America, and lived extensively in India and Sri Lanka. Yes, I glitch out and mix up words sometimes! In 2024, I officially got married ( barely made it before I turn 30 soon), and hence, the birth of the more mature version of me and my pen name - Yanise D Silva. Currently, I co-own a hospitality group on the tropical island of Sri Lanka with my husband and have several books stowed away yet to be revealed.
